I have always known that my littlest child's obsession with the cat and his tail was probably not the healthiest thing in the world. It went from something that concerned me, because of the possibility of needing to find a "child safe" hairball treatment for my little tail eater, to complacency as I could not seem to get across to my 11 month old child that chewing on the kitty hurts the kitty and thus kitty WILL attack back. Well, it has been quite a while since Bastian has gotten too worked up about the molestations he has endured. Until today. Tuesday February 3, 2009 the day the kitty decided enough was enough! Now I personally thought that Barrett was just climbing over my legs on the couch to cuddle the kitty, which he had been doing throughout the afternoon, but I was sadly mistaken. The result is that my poor little baby looks like he has gone 3 rounds with George Forman...ok maybe George Forman Jr, or II, or even III they are all very large and capable men right? Anyway, I have tried and tried to impress upon the baby that eating the cat is not a good option and he has ignored it. He shrieked and freaked when the cat applied his claws this time around so it is my hope that he has learned what would be a very valuable lesson. Of course my protective mommy reaction was to attack the cat back and chase him away. Now he lays a few feet away watching the baby. I really think he didn't mean to hurt the baby. Kevin is now angry as hell at the cat and saying we need to be more diligent and keep him from chewing on kitty from now on. What can I say My son likes to eat Pussy. Maybe now he will realize it really is dangerous!!

OMG! This about made me pee my pants laughing, and at the same time feel bad the cat kicked the crap out of him. I like your title!
get rid of the cat. It could have blinded your son.
Well, anonymous, I can understand your concern, but it's not like the cat asked for him to bite him either. He is actually a very tollerant and loving cat who doesn't do much to defend himself against all that this baby dishes out on him. I am sad that he got scratched but I am also hoping he will learn a lesson. He is old enough to know "cause and affect" now. :0)
